Submitting Manuscripts |
|
We are always looking for interesting new submissions and our website will give you an idea of the type of books we normally publish.
For all submissions, please send the following – all in one Word document if possible:
- a covering letter which includes your contact details – full name, address, phone, email
- a brief synopsis
- sample pages/chapters of no more than 30 pages in total – if we want to see more material we’ll let you know as soon as we can
Please note that due to the volume of submissions we receive, we cannot promise a personal response or detailed feedback on your work unless we think it may be suitable for our list.
We do not at present accept poetry submissions.
You can send your submission to us using this form:
(Please complete all fields.)
We prefer to receive submissions via email, but if you don't have an electronic copy of your documents, you can send them by post to:
Submissions Department, Black & White Publishing
29 Ocean Drive
Edinburgh
EH6 6JL
and please include a stamped self-addressed envelope as well as all your contact details, otherwise we will not be able to return material to you. Please note we cannot accept International Reply Coupons (the Post Office here won't accept them).
Please also note that we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage of material either in transit or for any other reason so please do not send anything expensive or irreplaceable.
Please be patient! We'll do our best to respond within three months of receiving your submission. However, due to the large quantity of material we receive on a daily basis, we may exceed this timespan during very busy periods.
